Welcome! My name is Brittany Maffei, and I am thrilled to be back in first grade this year! Some of you may remember me as Ms. Meshberg, but over the summer I got married to my husband, Paul! This will be my sixth year at Dorchester Elementary School, and I cannot wait to meet my new students. I have taught first grade for the past three years and prior to that, I taught fourth grade and second grade at Dorchester. In addition, I previously held a variety of positions in second, fifth, and sixth grade in Westchester County, NY and Stafford, VA. First grade was one of my favorite years in elementary school, and I promise to make it the best year yet for your child. 

Here is some information about me! I grew up in Rockland County, NY, and I come from a family of teachers! In 2013, I graduated with high distinction from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance. Later, I obtained a Master of Arts in Literacy Education from New York University. As a teacher, I strive to instill a love for learning, create a positive and safe classroom environment, and provide students with memorable learning experiences.
