I am very excited for this to be my sixth year in fourth grade at the Dorchester School. In my classroom, I apply the workshop model to both my Reading/Writing and Mathematics classes. This allows me to make sure the students are more responsible for their own learning as well as allowing me independent time with each individual student. I will be using my background knowledge and experience to employ strategies, methods, and activities to encourage students’ learning and engagement. My goal is to present information in a way that allows each individual student to learn and grow both academically and socially. The classroom is student-centered, inspiring learning and teamwork; providing enrichment at every level. I strive to incorporate the most current educational theories and strategies into my teaching. Fourth grade will be a year of learning, fun, friendship, support, and enrichment for our students. I expect all students to put forth their best effort in everything they do and hope you can help me to encourage them to do so.
