My name is Alyssa Merritt and I graduated from Rowan University in 2008, with a B.A in Health and Exercise Science with a specialization in K-12 Teaching Certification. In 2011 I graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2015 I graduated from Montclair University with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. I am also certified to instruct American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, Bloodbourne Pathogens, and AED training sessions.
I decided to become a teacher because I had so many positive experiences through out my schooling, and I wanted to be able to do the same for other students. I chose Health and Physical Education because I have been involved in athletics all of my life, and I realized how important it is to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Most importantly, I wanted to share that message with students, so they could have the tools necessary to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
When I am not teaching, I have a variety of other interests. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, participating in outdoor activities, and being physically active.
