I'm so excited to have your child in my Kindergarten class!!  This is my 22nd year at Dorchester.  I have taught grades Pre-K through 3 grade.  I am very familiar with the developmental stages of young learners. I am looking forward to guiding your child through these stages and helping him/her to feel successful as a learner.

     Kindergarten is your child first introduction to elementary school. Each child brings a wealth of educational and cultural experiences to kindergarten. Children have encountered many teachers (parents, siblings, extended family, friends, neighbors and preschool) before they meet their kindergarten teacher.

    Kindergarten is the time for your child to become acclimated to school and the school community.  Kindergarten is the place for your child to learn classroom expectations and routines, engage in peaceful social interactions, and participate in gaining knowledge about academic concepts.  Kindergarten is also the time for establishing dear friendships, and learning the importance of being part of the community.  Kindergarten is a time for establishing the academic foundations for first grade. This will be a wonderful year for your child!!
