My name is Mrs. Lake and this is my fourth year at Dorchester. I'm very excited to spend the year with your child and learn many new things together. I believe that good teaching should be fun, engaging, and inspire critical thinking. My approach combines all three of these components each day in order to put my students on the path towards success. I'm looking forward to a great year and getting to know your child!
I grew up in Glen Ridge, NJ and now live in Caldwell with my husband Andrew and our daughter Eliza. I received both my bachelor's in English and master's degree in Teaching with a dual certification in K-6 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities from Montclair State University. Outside of school, I love to go for long runs and stay active. I ran two half marathons in 2014 and want to sign up for another! I also enjoy singing and still take lessons occasionally.
If you have any questions for me pertaining to what we are doing in class or about your child's progress, please feel free to contact me via email or phone. I will post updates frequently on this website in addition to any notices I send home. Parent communication is a critical part to your child's growth. I am dedicated to building strong relationships with my students' parents to reach this goal. I'm always available to talk!
Let's have a wonderful school year together!
