School Health Guideline, put forth by the New Jersey Department of Education, requires that the Woodcliff Lake Board of Education conduct an annual screening program to monitor the growth of school-age children.
Effective for each school year:
Screening for height, weight and blood pressure will be conducted annually for each student in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Screening for visual acuity will be conducted biennially for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Screening for auditory acuity will be conducted annually for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3 and in Grade 7.
Screening for scoliosis will be conducted for students in Grade 4 if 10 years old before August 31 of the school year, in Grade 5, and in Grade 7.
As with all screening programs, parents/guardians of students whose results deviate from the established guidelines will be notified and advised to contact their physician.
