Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Jessica Mahoney and I am thrilled to be teaching fourth grade this year! This is my fifth year teaching fourth grade at Dorchester, previously teaching third grade for one year. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Psychology, as well as my Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends, staying active, watching the NYR, and cooking up a yummy meal!
I am passionate about providing a relatable, differentiated, engaging approach to learning that leads to the use of inquiry and higher level thinking. I believe a positive attitude and mutual respect among all members of our class will lead to success in our classroom. I look forward to watching my students grow academically and as individuals. Together, we will always try our best and work hard to achieve our goals. Most importantly, our class will become a family. We will encourage each other and always choose kind! I look forward to another successful year of learning and growth.
I am always available if you need to reach me! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have via email. phone, or a handwritten note. I look forward to a successful school year!
