                                                                                               knowledge is power

My love of teaching started when I was a child and would play "school" with my cousins on the weekends.  I received my bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University in Elementary Education / Social and Behavioral Sciences, and I received my master's degree from Ramapo College in Special Education.  I have taught several grades during my sixteen years at Dorchester, but I am especially loving 3rd grade.  I look forward to the adventure that lie ahead for your children and me this year.

Philosophy of Teaching

I believe that children are wonderful! I believe children need the time to just be kids and play sometimes.

I believe that everyone has the ability to learn and finding the way to reach each child is a necessity

I believe that everyone has the right to learn in an environment where they feel safe and comfortable.

I believe children learn by doing and sharing.

I believe that everyone learns by making mistakes, therefore mistakes are to be celebrated!  It is the environment of the mistake that helps us learn.

I believe all children need to learn to respect the likeness and differences in one another.

I believe children learn by example.

I believe that by working as a team, teachers and parents have the power to positively guide a child's educational path.
